About Mountain Province Coffee Shop
Mountain Province Coffee Shop is a small, intimate coffee shop located on Meserole Street in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We specialize in serving ethically-sourced, fair trade coffee beans from small, independent coffee farmers in the Philippines, a unique feature that sets us apart from other cafes in NYC.
The Team behind the Shop
The coffee shop was founded by Ray Luna, who was inspired by the legacy of his grandmother, a baker who was able to provide for her family by selling cakes to their neighborhood. Ray’s own family followed in his grandmother’s footsteps, and Mountain Province is a tribute to the rich culinary heritage of the Philippines.
Joined by his partner and friends, Ray and his team strongly believe in creating a welcoming and inclusive safe space for LGBTQIA+ and POC communities. The team also approaches their work with love, care, and a deep appreciation for their customers.
Our Mission
Our mission at Mountain Province Coffee Shop is to provide quality coffee and pastries while also promoting the Philippine coffee industry in America. We take pride in sourcing our coffee beans from small, independent coffee farmers in the Philippines, promoting ethical and sustainable practices in the coffee industry.
We also strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone who walks through our doors, just like Ray’s grandmother’s bakery was a gathering place for the neighborhood. We believe that our space is a celebration of Filipino culture and its rich culinary heritage.
